Matariki Scientist's

Thanks to the wonderful help of Amelia's family, we were able to view the Matariki star cluster using specially designed star projectors.

Amelia explained to us how they were made:
1. We had to eat lots of food from cans.
2. When they are clean you have to make holes, but you have to be careful. Only an adult can make the holes! The holes are for the little light.
3. You have to glue the batteries on the outside with a hot glue gun. The batteries make the light work. You need to remember batteries don't last for ever.
4. The circuit board comes in the mail and it has a picture of Matariki stars in the proper places. You need my dad's special cellotape to make it stick on properly.
5. When you turn the can up, the green light goes on. It only works in the dark!

Below are photos of some very excited children enjoying using the Matariki Star projectors.
Science is fun!

A big thank you to Amelia's whanau for making Science come alive in Room 3!
