Caring for our environment

Part of belonging and learning at Elm Park School, is learning to care for our environment. We thought our planter box was looking a bit boring and not very colourful. We decided to plant some new flowers to make it more interesting for us to look at.

We then chose our 3 favourite colours and made a graph to show the results.

We discovered that our classes most favourite colours were purple and pink. Orange was our second most favourite colour.

Have a look at all the colourful plants we bought...

See us working together to create our gorgeous rainbow coloured garden below.

Some of us dug holes for the plants with the trowels. Other people carefully put the plants in the holes. Then other people had the messy job of patting the soil down.

IT WAS A TEAM EFFORT.

Ka pai mahi!

Now we just have to remember to water it.

We continue to grow!

This week we had two more lovely people join our Room 3 family.

A very big welcome to Chloe and Marisa!

HAPPY SCHOOL DAYS.😃

We made a big circle and counted everybody. We now have 18 children in our class. There are 16 girls and 4 boys.

Arty Lines

We have been talking about lines  and patterns with Mrs Scott.

Lines can be made to look sharp, soft, curvy or straight.

We tried out lots of different ways to draw lines.
To be successful we needed to remember to repeat the lines to make a pattern and fill up the whole space on our paper plate.

We hope you enjoy gazing at a few examples of our colourful art.
